SUMMARY:Tap Talks with Kate DeAngelis and Fritz Seefeldt!
DESCRIPTION:On May 12, 2026, Kate DeAngelis and Fritz Seefeldt will tell the story of Kent’s famed Haymaker Farmers’ Market. Much more than a place to find locally-grown produce, meats, and breads, the Saturday morning Farmers’ Market is a meet-your-neighbors community destination.\n\nYes, you can access sustainably-produced, fresh and prepared foods, but you can also enjoy the music of local musicians, arrange for food assistance if you need it, volunteer, enroll your kids in the “Power of Produce” club, sign up for the Harvest Dinner or for a real farm tour, and get your knives sharpened.\n\nHaymaker Farmers’ Market was founded in 1992 as a shared vision between Jo Anne Jones, Fritz Seefeldt, Rick Hawksley, and Joan Inderhees. As a volunteer, Fritz Seefeldt managed the day-to-day operations for over 20 years and witnessed the success and growth of the Market. In 2025, Kate DeAngelis joined the team as Growth Coordinator. Haymaker Farmers’ Market continues to grow and fulfill its mission to create community through local food, art, and music.\n\nAccording to Sarah Kloos of the Edible Cleveland Blog, “Whether you search the stalls at Haymaker Farmers’ Market beneath a beautifully painted bridge, or frequent a market near you, the relationship you create with your food deepens. Take some time, find a story, engage with people. And above all, connect with your food. Your taste buds will thank you.”\n\nTap Talks is sponsored by Kent Historical Society and North Water Brewing, as a way to bring the community together for conversation about life in Kent, Kent’s history, and issues of the day that impact us all. It’s also a chance to enjoy an array of locally-brewed artisan ales and beers. Tap Talks are scheduled monthly at 7 pm at North Water Brewing, 101 Crain Avenue in Kent.\n\n\nThose who attend will have an opportunity to hear Fritz, Kate, and others tell the story this important community institution.\nOn May 12, 2026, Kate DeAngelis and Fritz Seefeldt will tell the story of Kent’s famed Haymaker Farmers’ Market.
