Tap Talks: The Cuyahoga River
Judy Auer Shaw will present stories from her upcoming book, The Cuyahoga: Our Beloved Crooked River at the next Tap Talks on August 20 at 7 pm. Since moving to Kent in 2016, Judy has embraced the challenge of discovering the many hidden stories of this precious resource and learning how much it means to the people of our region. According to Judy, “My original intent was to write about the Cuyahoga’s history, tell the economic story, and describe the ecology and social value of the river. But, during my research, I was not prepared to hear so many fascinating stories from so many amazing people. In the end, my book contains 38 stories as they were told to me. The book is illustrated by over 150 photographs contributed by people who clearly love the river.”
Those who attend will have an opportunity to meet Judy Shaw and find out more about her remarkable work. Get ready to hear a few stories and learn some things you didn’t know about our favorite river.
In collaboration with Kent Historical Society we present Tap Talks, a one hour informational talk about everything Kent. Tap Talks topics range from historical buildings and events to local flora and fauna.
