Tap Talks! 🇺🇸 With Bruce Schneider, Honoring Our Veterans
At a special November 19th Tap Talks to honor our veterans, Bruce Schneider of Solon will share details of his amazing trip to Belgium to honor his uncle Captain George L. Batz Jr. who piloted a B24 shot down over Belgium in WWII. The commemoration included a plaque dedication to honor his uncle and the crew.
Introducing Mr. Schneider will be blogger Patrick J. O’Connor whose article about this incredible story was featured in the August and September issues of Northeast Ohio Boomer magazine.
December’s Tap Talks will celebrate 40 years of the Wick Poetry Center at Kent State. Mr. O’Connor will return to Tap Talks in January along with Charlie Thomas, owner of the iconic Kent watering hole, to discuss his book, Meet Me at Ray’s.
Tap Talks was initiated by Don Schjeldahl, the creator of North Water Brewing, as a way to bring the community together for conversation about life in Kent, Kent’s history, and issues of the day that impact us all. It’s also a chance to enjoy an array of locally-brewed artisan ales and beers. Tap Talks are sponsored by Kent Historical Society and scheduled monthly at 7 pm at North Water Brewing, 101 Crain Avenue in Kent.
Those who attend will have an opportunity to meet Mr. Schneider and learn more about America’s Greatest Generation.
